Baydon village website
Hello. I am Mark Austen, and I’ve looked after the Baydon village website for the last 4 years. The village website is www.baydon.org has sections that represent all aspects of our village and community groups. If you are involved in any local group or event that is not there please just let me know and I will get you included
There are separate pages for local News & Events, the Parish Council, the church, the School, the shop, the pub, and a page for all our local clubs, community organisations, Wiltshire Council and so on
There are various other features, such as current and back copies of the Scene In Baydon, local weather and travel, local contacts and phone numbers, MAB section, copies of village documents like the Village Plan, local bus timetables, and a live webcam overlooking the Village Green across to the shop and pub
If anyone has any ideas for new sections or features, please just
let me know either by using the contact page on the website itself or sending
an e-mail to
Availability of the @baydon.org e-mail address for local clubs, etc (eg ParishCouncil@, BYPA@, Youthclub@, RedLion@, etc) so can have what you want such as brownies@, WI@, allotments@ e-mail (I have website@) so easy for people to remember and I can change where e-mails are diverted to when local club members come and go, etc. Also if wanted I can keep a full back-up copy of your e-mails
Looking at the pattern of the website’s visitors for this current month of April we had an average of 64 unique visitors looking at the website every single day of the month which is not bad at all
The more fresh and up to date content that I have, the better the website becomes, so please do send me details of any local news item, an event you are arranging, or anything of interest to others in Baydon and I will get it posted up promptly for you. I usually update the village website most days of the week
Website search facility working again. Google wanted to start charging for previous one so I’ve got a new free search facility working this week. Eg find when something was discussed at a previous Parish Council meeting , details about any local thing eg ‘Ramsbury Flyer’, someone’s name, etc in the search box on the home page
